    Deutsche Bank Tiger Open

Why did Deutsche Bank give Tiger a huge "Appearance fee" in the past. The other guys on the tour must get upset. However, I do understand the draw that Tiger has, he can attract a boat load of people and viewers. When I was at the Masters this past spring I deliberately stayed away because of the throngs of people around. It's not fun watching golf from 6-7 people deep in the crowd. I guess all the more power to him.

It's ridiculous that tickets to the Masters cost so much and always sell out. The other tournaments on the tour must get upset. However, I do understand the draw that Masters has ....

it's also ridiculous that Tiger has probably single handedly raised the amount of purse money available at any PGA event over the post 9 years. The rest of the players must be really pissed off about that.

Money leader, 1997 Tiger Woods, 2.1M
Money leader, 2004 Vijay Singh, 10.9M

    that must suck for them.

Actually I am sure the 4 day tournament ticket price for The Masters is not that much. Last I heard it was $125 but that was a few years ago. Even if it is $200 US now that is still a deal. $50/day. You will pay that and then some at the Bell Canadian Open. I know, I have been to 5 BCO's and last time at Ancaster I think our tickets were $60.
Here is the info for the BCO this year in Vancouver
    2005 Daily Grounds Passes

    Product

    Daily Ground Passes
    EventAdvance Price*Regular Price
    Monday, September 5, 2005Monday Pro-Am$20$20
    Tuesday, September 6, 2005Practice Rounds$20$20
    Wednesday, September 7, 2005Championship Pro-Am$30$30
    Thursday, September 8, 2005Round One$55$75
    Friday, September 9, 2005Round Two$55$75
    Saturday, September 10, 2005Round Three$60$80
    Sunday, September 11, 2005Final Round$60$80

As for getting tickets for The Masters, good luck. They cut the waiting list off a few years ago. Most people who now hold tickets to the tournament just pass them along to family members if they can no longer attend.
You can buy practice round tickets though, they hold a yearly lottery to designate so many practice round tickets to the general public. You send your entry in and sit, hope and pray! Or you can go down there and buy off the scalpers. I know a guy who attended the Friday round for $100 US. He said it was worth every penny just to see the course in person.

If the prices were ridiculous then they wouldn't sell out.

Considering how much it costs to see an NHL game, golf prices are a snip.

well, I'm glad Jeff got the sarcasm in my comment.

But for you others who only deal in facts and hard numbers. Here are the price of the 2006 Masters tickets.

As for the comment about being sold out for years and handing down tickets like granny's fine china. Tickets can be bought here for 2006.

Hmmmm two "troll like" postings in the same greenish-blue font and then "oh I was being sarcastic, here are all the prices for the Masters and a weblink"..... very fishy.

You just reminded me why I don't like to post on this board.

With Augusta golf prices being "a snip", treat yourself and get the hospitality badges. You deserve em.

I copied this from the Official Site of The 2005 Masters Tournament. It tells you all about practice rounds and tickets for The Masters.

    Practice Rounds
Tickets for the 2005 Masters are sold out.

Practice Rounds tickets are limited and sold in advance by application only. Applicants are allocated tickets on a random selection basis. 2006 Practice Rounds applications will be mailed in June to those people who applied in 2004 and/or 2005 or who have subsequently requested Practice Rounds information. Successful applicants will be notified in September. Unsuccessful applicants will not be notified. The deadline for 2006 applicants is July 15, 2005. If you are not on the Practice Rounds mailing list, and would like to be added for 2006, please send your name, address, daytime telephone number and Social Security Number to:

    Masters Tournament
    Practice Rounds
    PO Box 2047
    Augusta, GA 30903-2047
    Tournament Tickets
Tournament or "Series" Badges (Thursday through Sunday) have been sold to those on our patron list, which was closed due to demand in 1972. A waiting list began in 1972, and was closed in 1978. It reopened in 2000, and it too is now closed. No applications for "Series" Badges are currently being accepted.

As for the PGA, I know there used to be a lottery for that too as I was on the email list for that when it was played in NY two years ago. Check the PGA of America site
    right here for ticket info
