Not looking promising for golf courses re-opening before May 20th
Saw a couple of tweets today that are making me pretty pessimistic about the possibility of golf courses re-opening before May 20th:

https://twitter.com/robferguson1/sta...048246278?s=15
To make matters worse, I'm hearing a lot of chatter about the government actually extending the stay at home order until at least after the Victoria Day weekend.Twitter: @mfarquharson73

Yes its not looking good. It's time to lower expectations and if any re-opening announcements come up sooner than later, then it's a win. This is the sad reality we live in as Ontarians unfortunately.

Every single media person, blogger, twitter user is simply speculating on the status of any opening or extension of the lockdown. It will generate clicks and angst, but that's about it.
DoFo and his crew have already chosen to ignore the science so any decision they make will be based on either a Magic 8-ball or some other random input.
No use worrying about it now. Get your vaccination ASAP and wait for them to "decide".Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

We will golfing the May long weekend. And people will be camping and going to the cottage. Ford knows that whether he says yes or no, come the 20th, people are going away for the long weekend. At this point they are probably just going to hold these lockdowns until that date. They have come too far to flip a decision prior to the 20th. My 2 cents. Could be wrong.

Chances of opening before May 20th are slim to none. If anything this will extend longer, however I don’t see the long weekend as any special significance. So many people have been on long weekends now for months anyway via working from home. Sucks having paid our annual dues and unable to play but at this point no amount of emails will change anything. Case counts are on the decline which is great and as for golf I’m joining the others and travelling to Quebec to play. In hindsight I should have flown to Florida last week and taken 4 weeks of holidays.

Glad I just got my SkyTrak. It's pretty darn accurate too showing my exact slice
People are even speculating it may not open on the 20th like it was supposed to.

I am still holding out hope for 20 May, still a couple of weeks away and numbers are going down. If that continues we could be golfing on 20/21 May!!!

Interested in getting a sim if things persist, is your setup indoor or outdoor? Do you have a net? Did you consider the Mevo Flightscope or Plus?

It would be bad for business if they did. It would be difficult to prove a golfer is from any province.

Wouldn't be surprised if the stay home order is extended to after the May long weekend. Hopefully won't include golf this time though

I would hate to see it come to asking for ID, the ski resorts didn't.

Golf course seem to have been given a pass. Police were turning back Ontario plates at the Gatineau Costco according to a friend I golfed with today.

I can buy a 24 of Henekein cans for $27.50 plus tax and deposit most weeks on the Quebec side. Or 48 Coors Light for $53 all in. Then there’s the deposit bonus on the Ontario side. Doug Ford’s buck a beer for real.

I'm starting to mentally prepare myself for the possibility of no golf until July:
