Eastern Townships
Looking to golf in the Eastern townships. Does anyone have any information of stay & play courses, or deals on packages in the Eastern townships. Looking to go mid August.
ThanksSome people are like Slinkies... they're really good for nothing, ... but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs...

Cowansville
I played Cowansville and it's a great track of golf, and very affordable.

Worked at Owl's Head..beautiful setting Graham Cooke design....conditions generally OK but not always up to the standard you would expect from the setting......Cowansville is a must ....awesome public course ..traditional big solid golf course and usually in terrific condition and very reasonable proce. Enjoy

Out that way I have played Farnham and Les Legendes in St-Luc.
Both are decent courses.Zeemine

That's where my grandfather taught me the game and I played until I was 18, man I'd love to gp back and play there again. I remember the 15th was the "monster" par 5 at 525 yards lol.
I've played nicer courses, but the layout is right up there. There's a couple hohum holes, especially on the back, 16 and 17.

Hi,
I'm new to the forum and to golf too!!
On the Canada day holiday I was camping on the Mont Orford park and spent an afternoon playing on its course. I'd recommend it!!!
After 15h it costs only $15!!! Well kept course with a few challenging greens and lots of fun!

Reviving an oldie here, but just a heads up since no one mentioned it - another great Townships course is Dufferin Heights, in Stanstead. Stanstead is about 15 minutes south of Magog by the highway. The course is a very hilly one, so if you're in a hurry or have heart conditions you should consider a cart. It is a short, but challenging track, but the thing that sets it off are the views. Because you are on top of a hill, you often are on t-boxes with views of half the lakes and ski hills in the region. The 10th hole is probably my favorite I have played yet. The price is also very interesting.
Milby has declined over the past 10 years or so - I don't know if they have done much to improve it.
North Hatley is cute for a friendly 9.
Baldwin Mills is nuts, with slabs of granite sticking out of the fairways on the back nine - it is in Lac Lyster.
I am not sure if it is the Bury course or another, but there is one of those little 9 holes with the same pay and play all day deals - the great thing is they don't have a liquor liscence...the have a fridge full of beer and a jar with a suggested "donation" to a cause for each beer you drink. If you're gonna walk on thin ice, ya might as well dance.

For a place to stay that's nice and memorable try North Hatley. Great area with cheap golfing. I love the area just wishI played more golf when i was at school. (Instead of n golf)
