Marcos, this was also posted May 20th:
Played Smiths Falls today. Conditions were good. 4:15 round. Some of the traditionally wet areas were WELL marked off to keep carts away, which is a GOOD THING. Greens very FAST !!
I suspect there will be zero wet spots now!Lefty Lucas

Also played there yesterday. Yes very good condition. The best course I have seen this year so far.
Except for one par 5 (13?) with bad middle fairway, everything is in good shape - greens, tee boxes and fairways (some are browning due to heat now). The finishing par 3 is meh but the rest presents a good test for golfers.
The patio is very well setup and the cart beer girl was out.
Played first time here and it is worth a drive for sure

Played Mpntebello today....Tee boxes are in great shape, fairways overall are in very good shape but the greens are just ok. I noticed many ball marks that were unrepaired and not every putt would roll true due to bumps and inconsistent turf conditions.....#17 green (par 3) was particularily in rough shape. The special of $45. with cart was very good deal but I don't think that it is worth the money at regular rack rates until the greens improve.

Chateau Cartier
All the tee boxes need some TLC. There is no grass on most of them which shows they don't really care since it is probably the easiest part of the course to maintain. Aesthetically it captures a poor image of the course after the first 5-6 holes. Greens are slow and scrappy but no winter kills to note of even on 5&6. Course was full of people though so it's not like they are struggling.

Played Irish Hills today, Blue-Red. Very dry so the fairways were bouncing, bounding and rolling. Greens haven't recovered from a not-so-recent punching and were slow and jumpy. Tee boxes were bad. Many were just dirt.
If the Greens were decent I wouldn't have minded, but as it was, not much fun.You always hit a good shot on 18 to keep you coming back.

Played Loch March today....Greens are in excellent shape and have picked up speed since last visit. Fairways and tee boxes are flawless and the rough is punishing. Even with all the heat the greens staff have managed to keep the course nice and green.

Try tucking one of those Bounce laundry sheets under your hat, bugs don't like them. Citronella rub works as well.

Try Deer Fly patches from Lee Valley---they go on the back of your cap and attract the flies that end up sticking to the patch
Does the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

Played Loch March yesterday and the bugs were no where to be seen. It was super hot!

We had a light rain for a while then once the rain stopped we got hammered with the deer flies. Glad you didn't get the pleasure of swatting the flies away. 1800.

I tried these a few years ago and found that they truly did attract the deer flies, to the point that I had to take my hat off and put in 6 feet away from me whenever I was taking a swing. Also, the flies didn't die right away so you had this constant buzzing from the flies stuck to the patch.
I'd suggest putting the patch on your cart, or on the hat of one of your golfing partnersYou always hit a good shot on 18 to keep you coming back.

Anybody been to Riverbend course on Franktown Road? They've been through some tough times in recent years and I was wondering whether they are still a going concern or not.

Smiths falls, great layout, very nice and tricky greens, the back 9 is the most challenging and beautiful in my opinion. Fairways where very dry but its dry everywhere. Long haul from my home here in Gatineau over 1hour half.Glad i got to play it.

Meadows greens are in great shape. Tee boxes are much improved as well and the fairways are in great shape too
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.
