Site mods
For those of you who use a bookmark to access the forums rather than the site menus...
If you want to have the local site's menu on the left while browsing the forums, use the link in the header to get back to your local site, and then click on Forum or New Posts in the main menu.
Then you can bookmark the new framed page. This will make it easier to go from the forums to the Tee Time Bookings or Club Pages, contests etc.

Is there a reason that the site does not "remember me" after i log in. I have to enter user name and password all the time now with the new framed site. Haven't changed any internet settings either.

Also Dan, Why does the different post pages automatically open in IE to the bottom of the page or the very last reply? Very frustrating to have to arrow up to the top of the thread to read the original posts of each subject.

The frame approach has advantages and disadvantages. You can still usethe old unframed version.
I am looking at other options for including the menus but with one forum supporting 4 sites with different (but similar) menus, it is not easy.

It depends where you click in the unframed version. I usually click on go to first new post so it usually goes to the end anyway, so I did not notice this right away.
Click on the name of the thread and it should go to the very first post, but if you have read all the posts up to say page 3, then you still have to navigate forward, so no real diference, but I'd rather arrive at the last than the first myself.
It works right in the unframed version, but always goes to the botom of the page in the framed version.

Dan,
You told me the same thing on February 3. It was the first time anyone had to log in all the time because site wouldn't remember me.
This site never rememberes me. g8r, I have the same problem and I don't know why. All other site just remembers me automatically. I use Netscape... and this is the only site I have this problem.

What I meant was that he was the first since this recent change.
There are known issues with Netscape. I'd recommend IE for what it's worth.

Hey Dan,
The site no longer remembers me as well. Always has before...

Gotta wonder about issues that only affect a few people. Anyone else?
Looking for commonalities here. Thanks.

I've had to re-log in each time too, for the last few days.

I've never had problems with site remembering me - either at home (where I use Netscape) or at work (where I use IE). Just have to make sure that cookies are enabled/allowed for ottawagolf.com (hmm, maybe some people only had them enabled for golfresource.com).

I had no problems with the old site, just recently this happened. I do click on the heading of the post and it always opens to the last post..

OK, I may have found something for the login issue. Let me know if the problem remains or is gone.

Kinda an e-business card I think. Never used it.

Dan, it seems if I log on to the fourm through Ottawagolf.ca it doesn't remember me but if I use Ottawagolf.com it works fine. Nice_lag might be using the .ca one and that is why it never remembers him.

Good tip Andy. Now I'm up and running smoothly again. Out with CA and in with the COM....

I'm having trouble with the Private Message notices and IE as they say forum.golfresource.net. It asks me for my user id and password, thanks me for logging in and then bumps me back to the login. I flip over to Firefox, where I had stored my password before, and all is good.
Note, just noticed that the page I have in Firefox is forum.ottawagolf.com. I opened a new page, typed in forum.golfresource.net, put in my password, it thanked me for logging in, and promptly forgot who I was.
Dan, have you got all the host headers set up correctly? It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.

Host headers are good. It's a VBulletin issue. It does not like being framed and cookies are being lost I am able to make it work for ottawagolf.com, but I have not found a way (other than not framing) to prevent the others from asking for login all the time.
I don't have the problem at all. I have a different test user registerd for each domain. The system remembers them no problem. No idea why my experiece would be different than others.
I'd like to pull the correct menu as an included page, but that's tricky.
I may just make one menu that covers all the local bits from all the sites. That will definately work, and is easy, but is the least elegant.
