Best range for figuring out distances
Hi all - just looking for people's thoughts on where I can best figure out my iron distances. Like, I love White Sands, but a few flags out in the field just make it impossible to judge what I'm actually hitting.
Related, how accurate are simulators? Is that a good place to do it?
Thanks.

19th tee has lots of good targets but the real issue is that you can't directly map the distance with range balls to the ball you play with. You'll get a general idea but it won't be precise.
The best way is to track it during play when you know the distance to a flag assuming you have a laser. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

Sensors go in your grips. A cell phone is your GPS Every club is measured as you play. after 5 rounds it starts recommending clubs. I love it. I sold my Sky Caddie. Never wonder again.
This is a personal endorsement, not an adLife dinnae come wit gimmies so yuv got nae chance o' gitt'n any from me.

I second Dan's suggestion, I used them for a few months and it really has helped me with correct distances
