    Stonebridge Golf Course

What are some of the courses that have a membership going to do for their members. Stonebridge (only 9 holes 4 temps, next week 18 holes 9 temp greens). Lowering green fees doesn't do anything for the members who paid up front???? What can they do to help them?

    Unhappy Bankrupt

I think most courses are just trying not to go bankrupt. Last few years we have seen a few close or sold on the cheap and that will only continue unfortunately.

As a member at Metcalfe I look at the conditions throughout the entire season as a whole and not just the first few weeks. Stuff happens and you can't control the weather, but if the course is playable in May (and the 18-hole course certainly is) then I'm satisfied for now. I'm fully prepared to pay to play a round or two at courses that I know from experience will be dry and playable in April (i.e., Mapleview and Prescott) before I play my home course.

Most member courses have leagues and member events that usually begin in May, so there is a lot of pressure on management to have the course(s) ready to play for them. Our leagues typically play on the 9-hole course, and it has not been in good shape this year. Our member events typically play on the 18-hole course, and they have been fine. But we still have another 5 months in the season, so we'll see how it goes.
