    Bethpage for PGA Championships 2019

Looking to head to NYC for the weekend and catch a day at Bethpage for the PGA tournament.

1- What's the best way to get from Manhattan to the course? Apparently there's a train that takes you right to the course? Although the tournament website says to get off at the next stop, and they have a shuttle service?

2- What are the best locations to watch the action, likely going on a Sat or Sun.
Ideally like to see them from t-off, and spots to get close to them as well.

3- Thinking of driving most of the way, then leaving the car somewhere and taking the train into Penn or GrandCentral. Any ideas?

4- Any other tips while at the course? Would be my first time there.

    I assume you've seen this … https://attend.thepga.com/visit.html

I've been to 5 PGA Championships and the free parking / shuttle service was always very efficient. Expect huge crowds, and lots of lines. Arrive early as possible to get through security and on to the grounds with minimal delay. Bring lots of $$. They will have a massive merchandise tent with all kinds of goodies at all price points. Food and beer are pricey - expect $8-9 beer and $12+ for a hamburger. But it will be worth it, the PGA of America puts on a great tournament with lots to see and do, the course is incredible and you'll see most of the games best players in action.
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

I've left my car in Albany and hopped the Amtrak to Penn, takes about 3 hours.

    Thanks for the info!

Is parking free at the Albany station? I didn't see any mention of paid parking on the Amtrak site.

Any recommendations on some good spots to watch the action at Bethpage?

    Parking in Albany

Was $12 a day and $50 a week for the covered parking garage a couple of years ago. You can park at the Saratoga Springs Amtrak for free but I don't think there is any security.

I'm heading down myself for the Sunday round. We're staying at an AirBnb on Long Island. Gonna squeeze in a Saturday round somewhere on LI.
