Returning defective equipment to manufacturer -- experiences??
I recently cracked the face on my Callaway Steelhead 3 wood :crying :crying :crying
Before I go to the store where I bought it (3 years ago -- no warranty there...) has anyone had any experiences with returning equipment to the manufacturers directly, in particular Callaway?
Basically the face cracked just below where the face meets the top of the club head ( ~1/8th of an inch). IMHO it never should have broken there regardless of how much I used it. (It WAS my bread-and-butter club, so it got used 12-15+ times per round!)
Thanks in advance,
Garth

twice
I've twice returned broken clubs.
1) broken shaft on Wilson driver purchased on new internet
2) cracked club face on Callaway VFT that I won (was hitting range balls at -1 degrees)
Both times the clubs were returned to manufacturer by a golf store other then where I bought them and replaced at no cost.
They were however both relatively new (< 1 yr old)

Good News! Callaway will warranty replace the head (exact same head) for shipping only, despite the age of the club!
Now if I can just get through the next few rounds without it...
Garth.
