I don’t think the flags are ever removed. In fact if you went in today and paid for a green fee they’d let you play.
Oddly enough we just moved and while going through an old bin I found a receipt for a junior memebership to Cedar Glen for $42. Mind you that was 25 years ago but boy has golf changed! The little course was originally 9 holes with the original clubhouse a converted chicken coup. The course expanded to 18 holes but has since fallen back to 9 holes par 34. Haven’t played there in a few years but my parents are still members. There was a time in the early 90’s when Cedar Glen had over 400 members; not bad considering the town of Williamsburg had fewer than 400 residents
