    Inside aproach?

I found out that I slice the ball because I come to much from the outside and not the inside. What is the best way to fix this? The guy I booked my lessons with has gone on vacation and need to fix this asap. Has anyone tried that "inside Aproach" golf foam thing? Do you think that will work? Looks like it would make sense. Can anyone tell me a better way that won't cost me $100?

    momentus

I use the momentus swing trainer both to warm up before games and to help keep my swing path on line.
It's worked wonders for me. Canadian tire apparently has a knock-off version that's a little cheaper too.

    Inside Approach

I have an Inside Approach and if your coming over the top it will identify this pretty quickly. Fortunately for me I come in from the inside and I haven't had the experience of hitting the aparatus.

You should place the ball a couple of inches away from the foam arm and as you get more comfortable and confident move the ball closer in.

If you want to try it and save yourself some money, the driving range next to chuck Brown on St-Joseph in Orleans has one that you can rent out and try on their range for $5.00. Good luck.

    Home Made

I made one out of plastic plumbing tubing. It cost me about 10$. If you’re interested I can post a picture this weekend.

I purchased the knock-off version called the orange loop off ebay and it works very well. The ball is placed so that you can see it inside a loop. When you swing you keep your eyes focused on the ball in the loop and the foam lets you know when you are coming from the outside. I use this with my medicus for about 10 minutes/day to hit into a net and it has worked wonders fro my tempo and path.

If you have a broken shaft this can also be used as an aid. At the range place the shaft at a 35-45* angle right of your setup, if you are right handed. Position yourself so that in your back-swing and down-swing the club head is on the inside path and misses the shaft that is place in the ground. However if you come over the top you will hit the shaft. Swing through the ball a few times avoiding contact with the shaft in the ground. As you continue to do this you will develop an inside swing path. If you hit the shaft on the down-swing it means that you have come over the top. This is a great drill to cure an over-the-top swing. Good luck!

I'll see if I can get one on here tonight. It's not rocket science, the homemade one looks just like the one in stores just made with PVC piping that looks straight from Home Depot instead of the fancy painted version they use. If you look thru the archives there are some detailed instruction on how to build one. I think Dan even put a link to it.

Yes, but no pics. Can't find the one in the stores yet....oops, never mind, found it:

    Even better:

Whats odd is it looks like you can order replacement parts (ie: the whole thing) for $25 U.S...not that you would, but beats $100.

There you go. That second link is as good as a blue print. Just buy the PVC piping and follow that picture and it should be easy peasy.

If you think that you may want to buy the real inside approach i have one in excellent shape. I even kept the original box that it comes in. It comes with a video and a carry bag so you can take it to the driving range. It will cost you $95 taxes included at Chucks, i am willing to sell mine for $65.
