Toughest athlete ever?

I can't beleieve I'm going to nominate a wrestler...but after I saw this....I couldn't imagine anyone tougher.....check out Mick Foleys various injuries over the years in the name of Sports Entertainment:

- 2/3 of an ear ripped off
- eight concussions(not surprising)
- nose broken two times
- broken jaw
- dislocated left shoulder
- fractured left shoulder
- fifty-four stitches from barbed-wire
- broken left thumb
- five broken ribs(son of a....)
- bruised kidney
- broken toes
- torn meniscus
- torn abdominal(PAIN like you wouldnt beleieve)
- broken right wrist
- bone chips in elbow
- herniated discs(more PAIN!!)
- 2nd degree burns(ouch!)
- separated right shoulder
- broken cheekbone
- four front teeth knocked out
- and a total of over 350 stitches for the career.

I've had only 3 of those...and not at the same time....he received a lot of those injuries at the same time. I don't care who you are, you have to be friggin inhuman to take all that punishment.....this guy is made of spare parts now

Gotta agree here too. The poor *** can hardly move anymore. Evil Knievel is right up there too.

Haha, it has been The Tour De Lance for the past 7 years, now Lance is going to retire and give someone else a chance! It truly is an amazing dominate performance when you think about it. That is not an easy race to win once let alone 7 straight.

He could beat the crap out of any athlete EVER. Put him in the ring with Ali, Tyson, Fraiser.. doesn't matter.. even andre the giant.

I have to agree with this one. There's a difference of beimg tough and getting injured alot. The thing about Gracie is that he hardly ever got hit! He would beat guys 3 times his size and although some of you might think Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu is boring it's effective and when Gracie was at his prime no one could beat him in the UFC and the UFC is one tough thing to do.

My pick off the top of my head which I can't believe no one mentioned earlier, Brett Favre. He started over 100 straight games for the Packers and he wasn't one of those slide before they get hit sort of QB. He was one tough SOB. Very hard nosed, and to start 100+ straight games says something in itself. But watching the way he played makes it all the more impressive.


Oh and I forgot. Honourable mention has to go to all those NHLers (especially goalies) who played without helmets and facemasks. I couldn't even fathom playing goalie without face protection. Those were some tough (not to mention crazy) guys.

Vinnie Jones...the star of such incredible films as "Snatch" and "Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" was also vicious soccer player in the English Premiereship. But it wasn't his 13 career red cards that made him the toughest man in soccer. Anyone who has seen a certain picture of Jones clenching the junk of Newcastle's Paul Gascoine would have a hard time arguing that Jones isn't the world's most ruthless footballer

I believe Vinnie Jones is more on the mean than the tough side. I mean did he received as well as he gave? I like his looks though, checked the filmography and didn't his credit for Jurassic Park, now there where his toughness shone...
