Since I couldn't wait for the other thread (jerseys number) to get to 99. I though I one will get me to mention him first.

I always wonder why people consider Patrick "Wife Beater" Roy better than Hasek. Consider that Hasek played for BUFFALO and won some 6 Vezinas (best goalie award) and Roy played with good teams in MTL and COL his entire career and only won 2...
Marty Brodeur isn't done yet, and my opinion of him is higher than that of Roy, but he also benefits from only facing 20 shots per game in Jersey....
Tretiak is the only person (IMO) that is even close to Hasek.
Dan
PS - I'm Czech, so of course I LIKE Hasek better than all the above, but my opinion of him as a player comes from stats analysis and accomplishments. No goalie can win the Cup by himself, but Hasek won the Olympic Gold pretty much single-handedly in 1998.[URL=http://www.sportsfiend.ca/]Sportsfiend.ca - Make You Opinion Into News...

Luongo is definitely a potential legend. He faces the most shots of any starting goalie in the NHL and has always had a tremendous save %. His GAA will never be good until those young stud defencemen in Florida reach their potential... Under the tutelage of Jacques Martin, that team's defensive numbers will improve dramatically soon, and Luongo will finally get his recognition...

Glad that you at least hate Roy though. I totally agree with you that he's an ego-freak. His stunt in that 8-0 loss to Detroit that ultimately saw him traded to Colorado was an absolute mockery of sportsmanship and professionalism. Almost "Theo Fleury-esque".
Beating his wife didn't raise his value in my eyes either...

Which Canadiens goalie was it that was given "Redlight" as nickname? I know their media were tough, but that label took the cake...
