Arms breaking down through impact
Hi, I'm a beginner here trying to learn the swing....
I discovered a fix for my arms bending through impact, causing me to top the ball. Focus on snapping or flicking the wrists through impact. I get more power, and the balls are straigter. My right arm is straight immediately after impact. Only problem is, I have not yet learned to apply this to my full swing, because getting the timing right seems tough, and it's all about timing the 'flick' at the proper moment.
So far I'm doing this with a nine o'clock backswing.
It's a nice feeling when my forearms rub together for a brief moment after impact. It also feels like the added centrifugal force is part of the reason why my arms are straighter.
I'm still puzzled as to why my arms broke down before, and no-one has been able to give me an answer. It must be a common fault among beginners. I have Swing Like a Pro by Mann, and it does not say squat about this. Maybe it's just taken for granted that you must swing like this..?
Is there any teacher, writer who has written about this approach and advocates it?
I hope to be able to apply it to my full swing in a couple of weeks.
Thanks
