As for courses I have no idea. This was given to me by a close friend who no longer can golf. I took it to my course, turned it on and it began searching and came up with my course. It's not for me as I'm not a good enough golfer to chart the distance to hole when playing. I do OK with course markings. Manufacturer’s Claims: GolfBuddy boasts of having 24,000 courses available worldwide in its course database, the largest number of any of the GPS devices tested.
