    Local Course Recommendations Please . . .

    Hi everyone,

My dad will be coming out for a visit in early June, and we plan on getting a whole pile of golf in while he's here. He's a very avid golfer and has never been to Ottawa, so I was hoping to give him a bit of a "tour" of the area and get onto some nice courses.

Here's some of the ones I was thinking about (I've only played Greensmere so I'd like to try out some new courses as well, LOL):

    - Greensmere
    - Loch March
    - eQuinelle
    - Le Sorcier
    - Canadian
    - Stonebridge
    - Dragonfly

I was also considering an overnight trip down to Tremblant to get a couple of rounds in, but will probably wait and see what the weather forecast looks like.

Any thoughts on that list? Any others you think I should consider? We'll be able to weekdays and weekends pretty much any time, so that's not really a constraint.

Thanks a bunch for any suggestions you may have!

of that list I would take him to loch march, equinelle, stonebridge and sorcier. tremblant would be a great treat if you can swing it, it's outstanding and completely different than ottawa golf, other than sorcier on that list. Renfrew is a nice course as well if you are considering heading out to the valley.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

Canadian and Dragonfly are just OK, and conditions at Le Sorcier can be iffy. For avid golfers visiting the Ottawa area I think Montebello is definitely worth playing, either as a stopover on the way to Tremblant or a day-trip if an overnight in the Laurentians is not possible. I would also suggest Outaouais (I believe it is now called Rockland), Smiths Falls or Hawkesbury as courses in the area worth playing at least once.
