    Which shaft is better?

Looking at two drivers. Head is the same but the shaft is different.

I think that one is stock on a r580xd

and this is the other one.

Is it going to make much of a difference because I think the second one might go for cheaper. Thanks

Go with the Prolite. It is a solid option over the stock M.A.S. Any upgrade is usually the better choice over stock.

Tough choice. I tried the 580 XD with the stock shaft and nailed it down the fairway. This can get so confusing. Anyway on one of the previous r580 driver I owned at one point the original shaft was a stiff one and this was confirmed by my frequency meter. The original shaft also had a 12 cpm difference between the spine and NBP and came in at 45 inches.

Here's a review site that had user reviews of a few different prolite models as well as many others.

Yes/No. Either shaft will likely work acceptably for you if it has been spined, that is, someone has found the most stable plane of the shaft and has oriented it correctly into the head.

Just because the Graffaloy is a "name" brand shaft, does not mean that it is an "upgrade." One can find a $20 (Mercury?) shaft that will certainly play a lot better than the Prolite.

Like Andre above I recently reoriented a stock shaft in a Callaway driver that had a 14 cpm difference between two points, 90 degrees apart. In the original orientation the golfer hit a significant push/slice, from all over the club face. In its most stable position, he said that he was drawing the ball and hitting it more consistently toward the center of the face, meaning that the club head path did not change but the club face position did, with no alteration to his swing.

For those buying an OEM driver, it should be a prerequisite that the retailer pull the shaft, "spine" it, and reinstall it in the most stable position. Ya. Right!!

    Question

Can you get your club spined at Chuck Browns or Golf Town or do you have to go to a club builder?

Would it make a difference is one driver was a 580xd and the other was an r580? How much distance is the r580 going to be longer by?

The Prolite is a solid shaft. Stock shafts are okay but the upgradeds are usually better
