Question not an Ad - Golf Liquidation
Morning all, received a flyer with my paper this AM. Ad for a liquidation of golf equipment, clothing etc. this coming Friday/Saturday. Been to one of these many moons ago in Bells Corners and was disappointed. Seems like it is a couple-of-times-a-year thing. Just looking for comments about the value of a visit and whether the best deals are gone in the first hour. Example: Titleist Pro V1 $14.99/dz. Thanks in advance.

I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

Same as before whatever they have that's good, which is usually not much is gone within the first hour. Like Jeffc the Pro V1 are probably used /refurbish or they have a very minimal quantity they advertise Pro V1 at $14 just to get you out there!!!!

I don't know how many times you can beat a horse until it actually dies........................??? Yep a lot of really low end stuff and yes the golf balls were recycled. Instead of saying so they are now using the small re-cycle logo (circular arrow thing)
Does the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

I went to a golf equipment liquidation sale a few years ago and all the stuff was low end, did not buy anything, and was (total waste of my time) I haven't gone since. I don't know why the liquidators keep coming back to Ottawa and sell low end stuff? aka crap.

It all depends on which company is running the liquidation sale and what you are looking for. 2 companies that visit Ottawa are pretty good and have some half decent merchandise. The third company, I think it is local had nothing but low end knock off stuff and is a total waste of time.
I generally buy the golf gloves.. Cabretta leather gloves, name brand, 2 for $15.
Golf shirts, name brand, anywhere between $15 to $25.
Golf shoes starting at $50 and up.
One of the companies had M2 drivers and fairway woods $100 less than any retailer. Like anything else, you have to shop around and dig through to get a good deal.

These are liquidation sales. The stuff they have is clearance items that they buy up from closures or unsold stock for the most part. There are some great deals and some stuff that may never sell. (ie shoes in odd sizes.) When going to theses sales don't think you are going to a major retail outlet with all new high-end stock at bargain prices. That just isn't realistic. They are all advertised as LIQUIDATION sales and that is exactly what they are.
Life dinnae come wit gimmies so yuv got nae chance o' gitt'n any from me.
