    First simulator.

I have been reading as many posts as I can. This is a great site. I'll lay out my questions and concerns. I hope anyone can share some wisdom.
    1. Space. Garage bay. I have up to 12' width and 14' in height for a depth of 5'. My overall depth is 16'. The ceiling comes down after 5'.
    2. Structure. I'm debating the merits of carpeted plywood for the cave look or some type of metal conduit to hold the screen and netting or curtain type on a retractable wire for the sides or pvc with mesh tarp all around.
    3. Ceiling mounted projector or floor with a box around.
    4. Up in the air about the simulator. There are multiple uses. I'm a high school teacher and golf coach. In the winter some players will use it for practice. They range from 10 handicap to scratch. I plan on drinking beer and having friends over to play courses. They range from dangerous to good.
Has anyone used Divot action simulator from customdesigngolf.com? I have lefties and righties playing at the same time.

I'm not sure what I'm missing, thanks for taking the time.

    1. You don't have enough space for left and right hitting from the middle so floor sensors, Flightscope and Trackman are out. You'll need 2 Gc2's offset with FSX or similar or a compact auboutgolf setup. You need 15 feet of width to be able to have both left and right hit from the middle
    2. Plywood with carpet will look a lot better. Use osb and crown staple the carpet. You don't see the staples.
    3. Ceiling short throw
    4. See 1

Thanks for the info. What can I expect to pay for just that simulator setup?

I've researched and a used gc2 is about 5500, from what I can tell. That's no where near budget. I hate to go with a club tracker, but it sounds like that's it.

Any further help is much appreciated. I'm feeling very overwhelmed with all the possibilities. Especially since I can't test them.

I have a GC2 with 3rd party software. It's unbelievable. It was 1 drawback. It only works left or right handed and not both unless you pick it up and turn it around. You spoke about left and right playing at the same time. It's a draw back.

    Here's base costs:
    GC2 - 5500
    Mat - 500
    Computer - 1200
    Screen - 600
    Software - 1000
    Projector - 800
Other items - 1000 (curtains ect)
