    Projector for 16ft x 9ft Screen

    Hello,

I am in the planning process and am planning to maximize my room and go with a 16ft x 9ft impact screen. As i place markers on the wall the size becomes real.

I had planned on going with a BenQ projector but did not see a viable option in my quick searches that will support this screens size.

Can anyone who currently has this screensize recommend a projector? Short throw would be ideal but I figure those options are very limited at this screen size. Room depth isn't an issue.

Also curious for those who went with 16x9, if they feel it is a great size and an immersive experience or if they would have gone slightly smaller based on the resources needed in both CPU power and projector.

    Thanks

I have a benq. Mine is 16x9. It'll do any size or aspect.

How far is it from your screen and which model do you have?

The bigger the better. Check out Panasonic PT VZ570. Plenty of lumens even in ambient light and WUXGA resolution. I have 16 x 10 screen. My throw is 14 feet. Which ever projector you purchase make sure you stage it and then decide. All manufacturers allow a finite number of run time before can be returned.

If the projector is 4 feet behind the ball and golfer, how do you avoid shadows? This is my 1'st post and I'm still learning.

My ceiling is 12 feet and I do not have shadows. Thus need enough height. The projected image size in relation to different throw distances from respective projectors can be calculated from Projector Central calculator. Factoring what height is needed in relation to golfer is more difficult to calculate. One can use basic geometry and get a rough idea. Generally all projector retailers will allow a finite hours of run time on projector before it can be returned. Thus it is recommended to purchase a projector and stage it and see if shadows are present. Make sure the return policy is understood before purchasing. Another option is a short throw distance that several members on this forum use for their simulator.
