    Edeweiss course condition

I played Edelweiss today. This is only the second time that I play there so I really don't know much about the course. The greens were crazy fast. I really mean "crazy". Every time I tried to chip and roll on to a green my ball rolled off the other side. On 18 I was 12 feet below the hole, I putted up to the hole about 7 or 8 times and each time my ball rolled 12 feet back down to where I was standing! In other words put it in the hole or make the same 12 foot put all day long. On number 8 I was about 8 to 10 feet above the hole and I tapped the ball about enough to roll 6 inches on a flat surface, well the ball rolled 6 feet past the hole. And this is on a wet green! The greens were so fast that I ended up trying the Phil Michelson sky high lob shot any time I was just off the green. Is this typical for Edelweiss? If so I will not go back, its way too frustrating as I am not as good as Phil.

I play there about 20 times a year and they are fast but not like you describe. Its a hard enough course to score without really fast greens.
The speed year round is acceptable and hope they will be back to normal soon. I played it 2 weekends ago and they where fine.
Its a good challenge and hope you go back again. Best of luck.

I like Edelweiss and I play it 8 to 10 times a year. It plays long and tough for the average player and it is a challenge. A lot of people avoid it because it plays tough and too long from the white tees and is the main reason why it's not a busy course from what I hear. The 119 slope should be more like 123.

I played it last Saturday and green speed was fine and could have been a little faster. #18 is a quite a sloped green like #3 so it can get nasty.

I hope they are as fast for us next Saturday, I enjoy very fast greens as long as the flag is placed with discernment on the greens and not on a 25 degree slope spot.
