Why do we absolutely have to give an asking price when we put something for sale? and not '' make me a offer''

A fair question , but it's always been like that , maybe it's just to give someone a rough idea of what you want for the item ?

Seems pretty fair to me. We are not charged to be on this forum. It is a community of golfers. It is not in my opinion a forum set up take advantage of the buyer. I think not setting a starting price could lead to that.
If someone wants a different sort of selling atmosphere they could use eBay or kiijji.

This is not an auction site. You post a price or Best Offer . . . I think it is fair.

Think of it as a Dutch auction site. You post a price. If it's too high, there's no response.
The following week you post a lower price. That's the part I like from the buyer's side. One day
that Odyssey putter you had your eye on is down to $50....

Why not list a price?

All of my Kijiji "make an offer" exchanges have gone:

"Hi, will you take $$xx for that cool thing you're selling at an undisclosed price?"

"No, I am looking for $XX x 2"

"OK, thanks. That's more than I want to spend".

An asking price would have saved us both the trouble.
