Amateur vrs Mid-amateur?
What is the difference between a Amateur Championship and a Mid-amateur Championship?
Thanks,

Amateur is open to all and Mid-Am is only open to "Middle-aged" and older.
I think the minimum age for the Mid is 25 years old. Essentially it keeps the college players out of the field.

Mid-Amateur (at least OVGA that is) is 40-54 years old. Seniors is 55+.

Mid Amateur
As far as I know an Ontario Mid Amateur falls between the age of 35-50. I personally know a golfer who is in the top 20 of the Mid Amateur rankings and I know he is not 45, he is 39. I asked him what the age bracket was and that was what he told me.
My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

According to both the GAO and RCGA, the age is 40 for mid-amateurs. I could not find a maximum age, so I think it is 40 and over.
