The first annual NewRO LiveWorkPlay Charity Golf Tournament is Saturday, May 25th, 1:00 at Mont Cascades Golf Club. This is a gorgeous course overlooking the Gatineau River and Hills. On a Saturday it will take you just 25 minutes from the downtown Ottawa area.

There are trophies for longest drive and closest to the pin, plus the chance to win a one year lease of a boat or a car with two hole-in-one contests. There is a fun putting contest, also with prizes.

The day finishes with a fajita dinner buffer, and at last count there were another 50 prizes to be given out, such as a new golf back or putter, as well as a raffle for a Mont Cascades membership!

Registration is through the NewRO, just call Rhonda at 789-6559 x 2247 or email rhondam@thenewro.com. You can get the simple registration form from http://www.liveworplay.ca/golf.html as well as a map and directions.

We have over 100 golfers registered with a week to go, but we need to get another 40 to raise as much as possible for LiveWorkPlay, a non-government charitable organization providing programs and services for young people with developmental disabilities in the Ottawa area.

LiveWorkPlay helps people with developmental disabilities to live more independently, reducing costs to the community for in-home care, and in some cases, supporting individuals into competitive paid employment. The organization itself has virtually eliminated administrative costs, except for professional fees for accounting services as necessitated by Revenue Canada regulations.

Thanks to the NewRO and Mont Cascades, we are able to offer green fees, power cart, fajita dinner, trophies, and prizes all for just $85. If you are interested, get a team of four together and please sign up asap!

Thanks,

Julie Kingstone
