    Trade Ins

Generally speaking which of the 2 major golf retailers in Otawa would give you more for a trade in? I'm looking at trading in a few clubs and was wondering if anyone here had noticed a difference in the trade in values between the 2 stores.

    Thx

I would say Chuck Brown's would be your best bet. GT gives you next to nothin because they are not a store that is in the market of selling used clubs.

    Pro Golf

I would say Pro Golf at Hampton is best but maybe it depends on who your dealing with. Chuck's is good as well i would say either or would be similar. I normally go to both stores and take the best offer!

Chuck's is the best by far. I used to trade in a lot of clubs and would "shop around" my clubs but always went back to Chuck's. You have to respect someone with a history of being good to me. I find GT to be less endearing to the average golfer.

Chuck's is the best in town for trade ins... no question about it.

Before you go anywhere, you could also get a ballpark estimate on what your clubs are worth (in $US) by checking out the PGA Value Guide. http://valueguide.pga.com/ The 'about' page on their site (http://valueguide.pga.com/about.php) explains the methodology behind the valuations (basically it's the average E-bay transaction value). I think that values for clubs tend to skew a bit high because they use cumulative averages, and don't factor in depreciation over time. At least this gives you a bit of ammo before heading out to any of the retail shops.

I agree with the above, but I would also suggest shopping them around here first. It's a bit more effort, but generally you will get more on this site than what Chuck's will offer.

    Golftown Vs Chuck Brown's

Golftown is a great store. Good customer service as I think everyone left CB for GT. Although CB will definately give you more of a trade in. I have found that CB has declined in everything since GT opened up in Kanata...

Also, http://www.golfsmith.com/ have their own "Club Trade-in Program" .

Although they only list the price [USD] vs. condition of the make/club that they are willing to trade, it still might give you an idea before you leave the house.
