Surprised greensmere was still full pop this morning. 55$ is a little high for this time of year.

Really?! Fall rates at most courses usually start in October.

The bottom line is: What were the conditions like? I played Manderley and the course was in great condition - no punched greens and fairways in great shape. The course was fairly busy. It was a gorgeous day for golf, and the forecast for tomorrow is 24*. Discounts are always welcome, but there is no reason to be disappointed if you don't get them just yet.

I disagree. We're nearing the end of the golf season and the final week of September. For most courses, they will see a decline in golfers on the course these days as "summer" has officially ended and for many, so do their own golf seasons. To charge full pop in the fall is disappointing and something I will remember when I choose my next tee time

But the weather is still summer. When the leaves turn colour and start to fall, frost delays area regular occurrence, and we can't wear shorts, then it's fall.

Frost delay this morning at pineview.Guess each course will decide individually when and if they lower their rates. Its our choice if we want to play that course at the offored price.a fast call to pro shop will give you the info.

There must be at least 50 golf courses in the region, and only 8 are listed on the Fall Specials page on this site. Of those, half of them are about a one hour drive or more from downtown Ottawa. I guess you could have picked one of those.

I played Manderley on Saturday and Metcalfe today. The weather was fantastic, the courses were in great shape and there were lots of golfers on them. Why would they charge less if the course is still busy?

I have to agree with BC Mist...courses are in fantastic shape...Smugglers today was amazing....Arnprior was the same....just because the calendar indicates Fall, it does not mean that the rates must automatically drop..I love a deal like the next guy, but we have to be reasonable. If the course conditions warrant lower rates then by all means charge a lower rate. I would be upset if I paid full pop when the greens are punched, frost issues, and leaves everywhere, but we are not quite there yet.

Must agree as well---we all complain when the course is in bad shape but rarely applaud really good conditions at this time of the year----we all want deals. Hell if the course is in great shape---which most of them are--pay up and play the game and enjoy.

Most courses will tell you about maintenance if you ask.
