When is the ball considered in the hole?
Played today in match play and my opponent jarred his second shot from 100 out. When we got up to the hole most of the ball was above the hole and stcuk against the flag. He lifted the flag by pushing it and the ball fell in. Is there a rule on this or how it played out was good to go?

It was holed on his second shot.
17-4 Ball Resting Against Flagstick
When a player's ball rests against the*flagstick in the hole and the ball is not holed, the player or another person authorized by him may move or remove the flagstick, and if the ball falls into the hole, the player is deemed to have holed out with his last stroke; otherwise, the ball, if moved, must be placed on the lip on the hole, without penalty.

There's one guy in my regular group I definitely wouldn't be "authorizing to move the flagstick" if that were my situation! lol....
