Mont Ste Marie
Hey guys i have a 1:30 tee off at Mont Ste Marie for this Saturday. I will let you know what the conditions are like. I hope the rain holds off they are calling for a 40% chance. I plan on walking the course so i should get a good feel as to how wet the fairways are. Wait a minute, i should get a good feel to how wet the rough is because i am seldom on the fairway. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to play a certain hole? With a 30 handicap i need all the help i can get. Cheers................................Bazooka Don

No problem i only seem to remember the good shots, probably because they are far and few between.

I think if you tee off after 2 pm you have the option to take a cart on the weekends, I've never been refused my request to walk the course there on weekend afternoons

I just phoned Mont Ste Marie and apparently carts are mandatory on weekends after 9:30. Just as well it may rain anyway. I just don't enjoy the game as much when i'm in a cart. Thanks for your replies.

Sakuraba was correct, if you tee off after 2:00 on weekends you do have the option of walking. I had a tee off for 1:30 so took the cart and then made them aware that the person i had spoken with on the phone had told me this was not an option. They were very professional about this, gave us back our four free coupons and were apologetic of the occurence. Anyway i would wait to use your passes in the fall. this course must be beautiful in July and August, but the conditions now were not worth the drive time. Greens were not close to being playable. I love the layout of the course and look forward to playing it again No earlier than late June.

The staff at Mont Ste Marie are excellent. My father in law has an after 2 pm 7 days a week membership there, and it is very reasonable.
Once the course dries out, and the blackflies and mosquitoes leave, the place can be a real gem.
