This was a ReservationMasters project. We hired two excellent contractors to produce the code. I oversaw the project and layed out the requirements, directing the programmers and dealing with the RCGA. Thanks to Nathaniel, Dave and our lead programmer Richard for a job well done. We will be enhancing this further as time goes on, but it is pretty darn good right now!

Great news. Any future plans to have hole by hole entry and advance stats tracking (GIR, PPR, etc)?

Question... I think I know the answer here but just want to make sure.
Using the ECE
1 through 18 2 over par
19 through 32 3 over par
So if you were 18.9 would that mean you use 2 over par?

Am I correct in assuming that you need to enter 10 or more scores before you get a handicap index

With equitable stroke control, a maximum number of shots per hole relative to par is identified based on your handicap. This is performed to make your handicap more realistic and representative of what you can shoot. Adjusting the score involves reducing the score of each hole if you have exceed your maximum allowable shots on that hole.
The posted the chart (see above) which relates your handicap index to how many strokes over par you get per hole.
For example:
You have a handicap factor of 15.6 and your course handicap is 17. You can shoot a maximum of 2 strokes over par on a hole. When adding up your score any holes where you have exceed 2 strokes over par should be counted as two strokes over par. eg - if you shot a 6 on a par 3, you should be adding it as a 5.
Adding your scores without adjustment is called your gross score.
Note that if you do not have a handicap factor, you use the maximum allowable factor (which results in 4 strokes over par per hole)

I'm a memeber of Hylands but also play a lot of courses in the Ottawa area. I have entered 4 rounds so far this year, two from Hylands and two away. On the scoring tag they are all marked away. How can I have my scores from Hylands as my home course?
Cheers

Courses that use the ReservationMasters booking system will use it for official handicapping, and members of those courses can declare home course status in their profile. Hylands does not use our booking system so you can't set yourself up as a member.

If you have used the Reservation Masters system for booking it is the same password.
If not, just register It's free. Then you can use the booking system too.

Awesome! Great tracker! I had kept track of many of my previous scores in paper format and was able to input them into this tracker. Very easy to utilize. Thanks again.
It can be made even better if at some point in the future, there will be the ability to enter such info as: fairways, greens, putts, sand saves, etc. (don't want to sound greedy though!)

How are the Rankings going to work. Will you see everbody's handicap under their nick name?
-
05-18-2005 06:07 AM #29
The forum and the RM system are separate. Rankings will list all players by name, and you will be able to sort the list alphabetically, or by handicap. This will not be visible on the forum, just the handicap page.
