Hi Bubba, where is it possible to buy this software? I checked on their site but couldn't find detailed informations. Does it work with the Protee or what?

Hey Bubba, now that we have more of a choice with game software, what would you choose given the choice?

    TGC Pricing

looking at the graphics alone this seems to be the choice. Any idea why the simulator cost is so high compared to the console/pc cost?

Is there really that much programming involved in getting them to interface?

    Supply and demand.

Very little supply (not a lot of people with home simulators) = high cost.

It's expensive compared to video game software but really cheap compared to simulator software. You can't compare the two. You also can't buy TGC simulator. It's free with Protee and Protee costs more than Video Game software.

If the cost of TGC seems bad then I suggest you look at purchasing software from Foresight or About golf. I don't disagree that the cost is higher than console and PC but it will never be the same price. I suspect it will go down in price in time.

How much is TGC software? I can't find a price anywhere on that site...

There's at least one VR golf game coming for the HTC Vive which goes on sale this November, and it might work with the Oculus Rift which just announced a Q1/2016 ship date today. Not quite as tactile and social perhaps, but way more immersive when you're actually "there".

And The Golf Course is something you can play in VR today via the $45 VorpX plugin. I own a Rift and TGC on PC but not VorpX....I should do it FOR SCIENCE and to let everyone know how good it is.

If someone buys either my R11s or one of my Scotties in the classifieds, I'll do it....

As I said, it's free with Protee. You'll find the Protee price on swingsense

If you step back from this, consider why TGC is even available as simulator software. It is only because ProTee saw the possibilities and made it happen. ProTee has always marketed a relatively affordable simulator, especially when compared to the big names. In essence, they saw the opportunity and were able to integrate TGC with their sensor platform and software.

In order to adapt TGC to the sim environment someone had to take ownership of the interface and ProTee has done that. An integral part of the interface between sensor output and input to the TGC program is ProTee's "ProTee Interface" program which comes with their sim software.

When you buy the ProTee sim software you get ProTee sim software, the ProTee Interface and access to TGC. There is a vast difference in ultimate functionality between the PC version of TGC and the use to which the sim version of TGC can be put.

I'm not affiliated with ProTee but I do respect their role as a commercial concern who has every right to be compensated for their efforts.

    Hey All,

We are in the middle of testing SkyTrak with TGC and just got authorized to post this video (there are no guarantees that is will come out or when it will come out and we have no idea what the pricing will be if it does come out, so sorry if this is just a teaser):

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOSYog8gRqk

We hope to see this become available sooner than later though...

    Happy Golfing,
    Cory

That's a long delay. Do you have a strong PC?

Yes... the delay is currently the Skytrak's processing - it is the same delay on an ipad as a gaming computer.

Does that mean the delay isn't going to go away once we have PC connectivity?

Is this delay only with skytrak?? In other words if I bought the protee with the TGC would there be the same delay? Or would it be instantaneous?

ProTee with TGC processes and shows the shot on the sim practically instantaneously.

Delay seems to be tied to the SkyTrak.
