    My 2015 Masters hilights

Ok, I know the tourney starts tomorrow, but I was fortunate enough to take in the Monday practice round. Some hilites

The course is immaculate. There is no real rough. The rough is essentially pine needles under trees.

The beer is cheap. Arrived at 8:30 am and guys were drinking beer already. By noon, many fans were holding stacks of empty beer cups with Masters logos.

The food is cheap. But good. There is no gouging here. Very refreshing.

Mr Woods still has the aura. When word broke out Tiger was teeing off at 4:30, the crowd rushed to see him. Electric. Even for a Monday.

It is neat to see these legendary pros take 2 or 3 shots, like most of us do when we are playing on an empty course.

If I had to compare the course to anything I have played in Ottawa, it is like the flowery aesthetics of Pakenham combined with the rugged good looks of a Renfrew. Its magical to look at.

Talking to the fans. Alot of fans are successful execs tickled pink they are at a practice round at the Masters.

Taking pictures. One of the BIG advantages of practice rounds. Endless picture taking.

The number 16 antics. The fans beg the players to shoot skippers through the pond to reach the 16 green. That was fun seeing these pros..truly acting like the teenagers we all were.

The bathrooms. Attendants yelling out in a hilarious manner the impending vacancies. Like a meeting of rappish golf jargon that is like music.

They may seem quirky but thats what I liked the most. The course and players were good too!

Did you really just compare Augusta to Pakenham in any way!!!!??? We were there for Monday's practice round too and i've played a lot of high end courses in my time but nothing touches that place in terms of conditioning, landscaping or layout. It's ridiculous, absolutely perfectly ridiculous.

    Already planning a trip back!!

Guys I was just wondering how you go about getting tickets for the practice rounds. Any info would be appreciated.

you need to apply on the masters.com website when the ticket lottery opens.

If you go to the website now there is a link to the 2016 masters---follow the link--register now and you will be notified via email when the lottery actually opens.
    Does the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

tickets at source are like $65 for practice rounds..dont think that much more for the tourney

I was unsuccessful in lottery but kept an eye on local kijiji and was able to pick one up at a reasonable price. Things happen..plans get altered, and tickets become available and there are still some quality people around not trying to make a killing selling tickets like these.
