    These Young Kids today !!!

Hi everyone----had the pleasure of playing with a father/son pair yesterday at Royal St Cloud. They paired myself and my wife up at 8:00 am hoping to get in a regularly timed round

It ended up being one of this trips highlights.

The son was about 5 ft 4 and weighed in at a whopping 115 pound soaking wet.

He has been playing for 6 years---in grade 9 and plays varsity golf near Boston Mass. He is a 6 handicap and pounds the ball a good 260 yards in this heavy air. I hit my driver 230 and he pulls out his 5 wood !!!!! I ask why---he says "better ball placement "

His drives were like arrows----right down the middle----every single time---pitching and chipping awesome and his putting was as smooth as butter. His set-up was the same every time (a little slow for me) but the results were spectacular-----thought I was at the invitational !!!

I was happy shooting my regular 87 and he shot a 75---his Dad a 86.

I asked what his aspirations were and he was not sure. His only remark was " I will have to get a lot better than this to make it a golf career" His head is in the right place and he has no illusions.

In about 5 years watch out for tall skinny kid---his dad says he is just starting to grow !!!!!!!!!!

Peter Bowie is his name---soft spoken---polite and a pleasure to meet him.
    Does the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

I think my 12 yr. old, 5' 1'' , 110 lbs.and counting will be giving dad strokes very soon this season.

I am a 15 and he finished last season at 18 and beat me twice strait up !

He's been banging balls and getting some excellent tutelage all winter at an indoor facility in Kanata and the results are outstanding.
