Epson 8100 Projector
Does anyone have any experience with this projector? I got one as a hand me down when my brother upgraded to a 3D projector. It's a 1080p projector but only rated for 1800 lumens. It's a little dimmer than I'd like. Right now I have it set up in my den where there's decent ambient light. I'm wondering if I should try to play around with the lighting (e.g., blackout curtains) or just get a newer projector altogether. I've read people having success on the Epson 8350 which is rated for only 2000 lumens.

I have an Epson 6100. It also has an 1800 lumen output and it works fine for me. I even use it during the day in a room with a large window, with the translucent blinds closed for the most part of course.
Most would likely recommend at least 2000 lumens.

I played around with the menu settings and it looks like Dynamic mode should be bright enough for me without adding blackout curtains.
