My wife and I went out to visit her uncle last week on Vancouver Island. The weather was perfect! (25C+ & sunny all week)

We played Crowne Isle in Courtenay and Storey Creek just outside Campbell River. Both courses were in fantastic condition.

We stayed a night at Crowne Isle in the best room I`ve ever been in and played two rounds. The course is lined with perhaps too many homes including some within a skull shot of the numerous bunkers. Some are too close for even a 5 wood layup off the tee. (with a slight hook.) The greens were very fast and challengingly sloped. The view of the mountains was breathtaking.

Storey Creek was also tight with fast greens that did not have a flat spot on them. The trees were so tight and huge you couldn`t catch a glimpse of any mountains.

Neither course really allowed the use of driver as the numerous doglegs from the whites were only 200 yards out.

There is a Vancouver Island golf tour package that we might try if we go back.
