    Can't wait to play...

Hi ottawa golf groupies I just started golfing at the end of last play year. I am excited to get out and improve my abilities this year. What are some good beginner courses to start out on. I am in ottawa.
    Thanks

Look at the link on the feature coures page at Riverbend. They have a par 62 short course with short par 4's and par 3's. It is ideal for the beginner. They also have a golf academy. For any beginner I would say take a lesson, for a flaw that would take you five years to figure out a good cpga pro will figure out in 5 mins.

As far as making your iron shots more precise, I'm always impressed with Thunderbird. Its a well maintained par 3 and is very good for getting the short game a bit more precise.

Cloverdale. It's links style, so no trees on the course. Of course there are other factors to contend with (i.e. wind), but you shouldn't lose too many balls (unless you're in the fescue in the middle of summer).
