    Pulling a superstroke grip

I'm looking to save a superstroke grip I have on one of my putters...it was installed via the 'traditional method' of double sided tape and solvent. Anybody been successful at removing? and if so, with what technique? Thanks!

I had one removed at GolfTown after a failed experiment. They managed to save it by putting a needle into the end of it between the grip and shaft and injecting a solution into it. It expanded the grip (bigger than it already was) and they pulled it off. it was a bit messy but the grip looked perfect removed.

Look at the thread by BNeil. He has got a grip remover for sale. Basically you stretch the mouth of the grip a bit and put a little solvent then twist and work your way all the way down. Works just fine.

Thanks for your help guys...looks like only certain types of SS grips can be saved...I pulled a flatso ultra at GT Kanata yesterday and only b/c the core is solid rubber..most other SS models do not have this solid core and so they absorb all the solution and therefore cannot break the bond b/w grip and double sided tape. Nonetheless, it is not an easy process and took a lot of solution and twisting to get it off. I don't even know if they would try and do it again for anything as they only did it b/c I'm friends with all the workers there.

FWIW, I"ve been able to pull 'taped on' SS grips with air and a little mineral spirits in the butt of the grip. Just please wear the proper gear ( glove and protective glasses )
