    Lost of yardage

Hi everyone, here is my situation:

I bought a new set of mizuno irons in novembre at GT. Now I tried them out on the screen and decided to go with the classic S300. The feeling was just too smooth with the S300. Distance wise, I wasn't giving up anything. Now that the season is on it's way I find myself short most of the time, almost a full club short. It doesn't make me a happy camper. I would like to know where is the best place in the region to get fitted for new shafts? All I want is to get my yardage back to where they were last year.

    Thanks
Will I learn how to chip?

Hold your horses before you do so.
Check the lofts of your previous irons vs your old irons. You can find this info online most times. Your old irons might have had stronger lofts and or longer shafts than your actual irons. Also if you were playing graphite shafts before the clubs were most probably 1/2 longer than their steel counterpart. And lastly keep in mind that most courses have been pretty damp so far and you are not getting any roll. Start from there.

I posted this as well. Not sure why it didn't show up?? Anyway, as Chief said, your lofts could be different. Check them!

Don't know about you but I highly doubt that a switch from S300 to R300 will yield a 10 yard difference in distance unless the user bunts the ball.

You mentioned you tried them out at GT hitting them into a screen but now that you are outdoors you are hitting 10 yrds less? I wouldn't use the screens at GT to be a true indicator of your distance. However if you are hitting 10 yrds less than you were with your old clubs then I would check the lofts. If the lofts are the same then see a club fitter.

Lofts for sure. Most mizuno's are weak compared to a lot of brands. First thing I noticed when I went to a set of MP52's.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

What model of Mizuno did you buy? What were your old irons?

Thanks for the answers guys. I did think about the lofts, and they are exactly the same. I was playing MP-53 and now I have the MP-54 so I don't think the heads have anything to do with this. I decided to go with the S300 because of feel (I had PX 5.0 on my MP-53). Now before I go back directly to PX ($$) is there any place I could try different shafts or just get a proper fitting?

@The Saint: I lost carry distance on the golf course. As you mention, I never trust GT sims. Any good fitter you would know?

I'd recommend Don at Artisan Golf in Kanata. Great guy and knows his stuff.

The S300 isn't that much stiffer than the PX 5.0 (see the shaft chart on the GolfWRX website under the Clubmaking forum), but it is a fair bit heavier. Maybe you've lost a bit of club head speed with the DG.
You could always try the Mizuno Shaft Optimizer to get an idea of a suitable shaft, but I suspect you may have already had that fitting at Golf Town when you bought your clubs?
    Good luck.

Went yesterday, and wow, what a great experience. Don found the reason for my lost of yardage and suggested new shafts that should bring me back to my usual distance.
