fedex ground for larger packages (e.g. clubs), canada post for small items (e.g shirts, etc.). I've never heard of anyone i shipped to getting hit with any additional fees down there.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

De minimis threshold in the USA is $200 whereas in Canada it is $20. So no duties and not fees if shipping something less than $200 US so you can just choose the service that best suits your needs and costs. Even if a little over $200 CBP tends not to be more flexible.

Like Jeff said, fedex ground is reasonable for larger items, clubs...plus tracking no. Canada Post can be iffy with tracking, after it crosses the border...not linked with the USPS.....for location of packages....

FedEx ground is the best pricewise for shipping a driver. However you have to fill out the
    FedEx Documents for International Shipments.

I believe there is no brokerage fees if the item is listed as used and under $200.
In the past I have shipped to the US for less than $30. The volume of the box also matters in the pricing so the tinier and shorter the box the better. Nice to be able to track your shipment all the way through.

That is great that they are linked, as it has been some time since I shipped to the USA with Canada Post, I always went with FedEx Ground because of the tracking features. I may use them in the future.
