Bubba's Grips

Whenever I see Bubba on TV it always looks like he's holding a baseball bat rather than a golf club his grips look so thick. I always wondered if it was actually the case, or if it was just the TV angles. On another forum today the WITB for Bubba actually shows the grip sizes. Check this out:

Grips (driver/woods/irons/wedges: Ping 703 Gold (10 wraps under the right hand, 12 wraps under the left hand)

And I thought people looked at me strange when I ask for 3 wraps of tape under my grips when i get them redone. Interesting too that he has more on his bottom hand, I guess removing the taper built into the grip.

He is a big guy with big hands and likes a big grip. But yes they are hugs grips when you see them on tv.

I don't think tape under the bottom hand is all that rare. I have heard of a few players do it. I am not saying that it's 10% or anything, but I don't think it's Bubba doing it.
