Shortening Driver
I have a question for the club builders out there. Probably straightforward for those who know their stuff.
I have a R1 currently at 45.5" and D4 SW. I would like to shorten it to 44.5". What will this do to the SW? Will the change in SW make the club head feel "heavier" or "lighter" or is that aspect unaffected by the shortening of the shaft.
Thanks,
Dave

Swingweight will go down to C8. It should feel lighter. It will also play a little stiffer.
1⁄2" change in the length of a club causes a 3-swingweight point change. Lengthening a club increases swingweight; making it shorter lowers it.Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.
