Shot My Age - Finally
After having a couple of opportunities to shoot my age in the last two of years, I finally accomplished that goal by scoring 68 this morning on our Legacy course at Greensmere, playing with Gerry Bower and another member. A 35 foot, wind assisted putt on the last hole sealed the deal.
Years ago I played with my dad when he shot his age for the first time at 75 (he beat me by 1 that day), and I was hoping to do it before turning 75. I wish that I could tell him about today. He would be proud.

It wasn't a bad round. 6 birdies helped the cause. I only saw him miss a couple of shots but made most of the recoveries. Great Game!!!!!

Congrats Lyle. When I first opened the thread I saw "Shot my age--finally" by Marcos. I thought "my God he aged quickly"
Does the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

While playing with Lyle for this great feat I also shot what age I feel like these days but it wasn't as good a round as he had. It's interesting when you know someone is having a really good round how we all stayed out of his way and never once asked where he stood as far as score. I've been fortunate to witness his course record round, hitting all 18 greens in regulation, shooting his age and also a hole in one.

Heck I shoot my age almost every day!! 41 the front and 41 the back 82!! Just turned 41 last month, so its easier and easier!
seriously though, congrats Lyle. That's a great accomplishment! Well done!

81
Well since I'll likely never shoot that (81) again, I've only got another 18 years until I can say I shot my age (once upon a time)...
