Jensen leads Cisco Masters Field as Tour Begins for 2001

Ottawa, ON – July 3, 2001 – Andrew Jensen of the Ottawa Hunt continued where he left off in 2000 – at the top of the Cisco Systems Junior Challenge Tour. The 17 year old son of former Hylands Golf Professional, Al Jensen, carded a one-over par 73 on the par 72 Mississippi Golf Club to lead all juniors.

Following closely behind Jensen at 2-over 74 were Tom Watts of Brockville, Andre Maillet of Hylands and Pierre-Luc Caron of Rivermead.

In the 10-14 age category, Camelot’s Jason Simac and Canadian’s Desmond Turcotte tied for medallist at 7 over par 79. Cornwall’s Taylor Fitzpatrick finished in 3rd position with an 81.

The successful Cisco junior tour, in its third season, offers high quality, competitive golf tournaments for the region’s top junior golfers. The tour continues July 23 with the Cisco Junior Classic at Hawkesbury Golf Club.
