    Projector for FSX software

What projectors are you guys looking at to take advantage of the 4K graphics with the new FSX software?

When i do decide to get it, it will be a good 1080p projector, 4K projectors, even cheap ones are crazy expensive...the gc2 was bad enough!

I believe that Sony might be the only company to make a true 4k projector at this time and am not sure that you will find one for less than $10k (this would likely be a used one as well). The next best would be the JVC models, which are not true 4k but very good projectors. The problem is that all of these projectors are for home theatre and thus do not have the light output for a golf sim. I suspect that we are aoubt two years out from having something that can be used in a golf sim (all you have to do is look at the limited selection of good 1080p projectors that we can select from to know that it takes time.

I guess this is why Foresight chose to only use a 4k tv in Cory's video from the golf show (I am assuming that they used a 4k tv) as there really is not that much to choose from at a price that makes any sense.

4K projectors are pricy. I recently demo'd a nice Panasonic 4k which came in around $3500 so not too bad. Low lumens so directional lighting a must.

Computer is also a consideration for 4K.. Start thinking 780TI video card to run a strong simulation system with optimized graphics.

The reason Foresight used a 4K TV was because the software was not available for play and only as a repeating fly by at the show.

GC2 with FSX will be awesome

It was a special down. From 5000 at Stev' s TV in Waterloo.

Haven't followed up as the software was not ready.

Thanks for the replies. I will look into a 1080p projector for now until the 4K projectors have more options. I have a BENQ MX812ST - DLP, XGA, 3500 ANSI Lumens short throw projector that I will look to sell. I have a 12' wide screen and want to hit from around 15' so will look to ceiling mount the projector. I am looking at the Optoma HD25-LV unless there is a better option.

What would you guys think of a projector outside...could it work and be bright enough in a darkened hitting bay?
