Gatineau, April 29th and May 2nd. The fairways are dry, the bunkers were in decent shape and fairly well drained. The greens were a different matter and despite the Pro Shop's assurances that the greens were "perfect" they were not, winter kill, last fall's areation holes, and shaggy would be a more objective opinion. All in all a good day to be out in the wind…
postscript… The tee box on # 1 makes it a par 3!! and the tee box on # 10 is just plain stupid. When will Le Club get it right when it comes to accommodating a golf course with cars and houses??
post postscript…number 9 tee box is 1/2 away up the middle of the fairway…what are these people doing? No explanations from the pro shop. As with the Chateau Cartier the housing developments trump course design every time.Last edited by Golfer100; 05-04-2014 at 08:15 AM. Reason: Postscript

Played Canadian yesterday and Casselview last week, both in great condition. The greens are in awesome shape and roll very true. Almost got blown away in a hurricane yesterday but course conditions kept it very enjoyable!

Gatineau greens are getting just a teeny bit better. Another 3 weeks and they should be back to normal.

Hammond Golf
Does anyone know what is going on with Hammond Golf? They seem to be a bit late to open.

Some people are like Slinkies... they're really good for nothing, ... but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs...

Played Greensmere Premiere 11 holes until it rained today. The course is still fairly wet where if you walk on the fairway the ground sinks in some spots and the greens have brown spots but slow. The wind was the biggest issue though.

Anyone play Loch March? How are the conditions, besides the fact that it rained the past few days?
I like to call it a power fade

Played Le Sorcier yesterday and the whole course is in amazing shape, it is just very wet. The course is in better shape than it was all of last season.
Greens are perfect just soaked and slow. Fairways in perfect shape but soaked.
They are planting new plants and flower beds all over the course, they are doing lots of tree and brush cleanup and landscaping, the place looks amazing with the cleanup and landscaping.
A pair of hugs white swans are living on or near the pond on the back nine.
The owners look to be spending a ton of money on this course and it looks great.Obviously you're not a golfer.

Played SB and EQ recently, both in great shape, greens slow but rolling well. Will be nice not to play in 40k winds and rain!

Cedarhill greens are fantastic, fairways are for the most part soggy. This week warmth should really help a lot of courses.

Me either my friend, every day that I could have played ended up being rained out, my practice net in the backyard is getting a good work out but I just need to see my ball flight more than 5 yds at at time. I am hoping to get out early this Friday if the forecast changes or if the rain holds off until the PM.

Calabogie
Played on Tuesday. For one of the courses that are usually pretty decent in the Spring, it was pretty poor. Soggy fairways on the front, shaggy greens everywhere, no cart girl, not even the restaurant or bar open. $25 until mid-may.
The worst part was all the fairways that had been de-grubbed by all the coons, skunks & crows back in the fall. No attempt had been made last year to put it all back together again. Now it looks like some fairways have been tilled with a big roto-router.
We won't be rushing back up there

FALCON RIDGE today is another course that wintered very poorly. Several greens are in pretty sad shape, even the practice areas are still roped off. No cart girls yet, not even any ball washers installed yet.
BUT it was a JOY to wander the course in shorts & shirts!!
