It was an April Fool's "joke" from Falcon Ridge. I say the joke's on them as they still have that 10-11-12 stretch.

not funny
You only get out of something what you put into it

I'm all for good humor but I will say that for a below average course I would think that it's not a very wise business decision to mess with your customer base like that.

If I start driving south where will I hit the first open golf course?

Pine Hills in Plymouth MA opened last week. Granite Links in Boston area (Qunicy) opened yesterday. Both are very nice tracks. Courses in southern NY state (Binghamton and possibly Syracuse) may be opening soon.

Talked to the owner of Falcon Ridge a week ago and he told me that he was planning for opening the second week of April...... I live in Greely and i have less than a foot of snow on my front lawn with some areas showing some grass. If we get some rain, it is possible.....
Golfing only thing on my mind.......

It's not only the snow that is the issue. The frost that is still in the ground is a major delay in openings. I have stakes that held candy cane lights for Christmas, that are along our walkway. They are only a few inches into the ground. These are still frozen solid in the ground, and I cannot remove them.

Played it one year "early" with snow and water in most of the sandtraps and on the side of fairways with 6-7 holes closed on the back nine because of water and not playable. Same thing at Nation. Many courses want to open early cause they are cash generators and course conditions dont matter.
Everyone will want to go out if anything opens in the area and the next day everyone will be complaining here on this site that the fairways were wet, the greens were not puttable, the course could not handle the volume of players and pace of play was slow.Golfing only thing on my mind.......

Guys it's April 3rd!! It's going to get warmer over the next few weeks, three weeks is certainly not out of the question for openings however the conditions won't be great.

Foxfire (Syracuse) front 9 is open right now, the back will open next week, still wet I am told.

Heard rumor last week (Apr 4) that Casselview has removed all snow from their greens (they were covered?) and they are looking good.

Someone posted a picture of the greens with the snow removed at Casselview Kiwi, they were a nice color that I did not recognize.

You're not wrong. It sucks. Tuesday and Wednesday are supposed to be cold and winter-like weather.
At this rate, we're going to skip Spring and go straight to Summer!!

+22 Monday, +3 Tuesday and 5cm of snow. It won't last though.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.
