    Caddies?

    Are there any clubs around here that have club caddies? I've searched online, but can't find anything...

    None that I am aware of in the region.

    Back in the 50's I was a caddie at the Joe Saks' Gatineau Golf club. I made $1.00 a round and maybe a Pure Spring Spruce Beer at the turn. The men were less demanding than the women members.

    Hands down, the best job I ever had working in the golf industry was the 2 months I spent caddying at Magna GC in Toronto (area) before I moved to Ottawa.

    I have worked in pro shops and back shops in both public and private courses/resorts across Canada and the US and bar none, the best job i ever had was caddying. Getting to spend 4+ hrs with the guests/players was so much better than everything else. You literally could not pay me enough to sit in another proshop again...maybe with the exception of Augusta National If you or your children ever get the chance to do it I would highly recommend it to them. Hopefully one of the local private courses starts up a program some day soon.
