Ball hit player what is the ruling?

Playing today and this occurred.
Player A and Player B we both approx 15 Yds off the green. Player A chips and puts it 6 ft left of pin and approx pin high. He walks up and begins to mark his ball. Player B not paying much attention is not aware Player A is going to mark his ball. Player B chips and hits it thin. It hits Player B in the foot and stops about 3 feet from the pin.
What is the ruling?

If this was a match, B may, if he wishes immediately cancel the shot and play again.
In stroke play, the shot stands.
There is no penalty in either case.

If A & B were partners, then B get a 1 stroke penalty and the ball is played as it lies.

I can tell you that the penalty when you hit your wife in the forearm (very narrow tee-box with forward tees 100 yards ahead) does not include any strokes.....for weeks.

It is amazing how immediately icing a flesh wound (as above) prevents swelling and reduces bruising.

Steve we all know you were trying to play that shot and you were overly surprised that the ball actually went where you wanted it to.
