User Reputations
I had a request to enable User Reputations which I have always had disabled to avoid people getting upset with poor ratings. I looked into it further and the system has been enhanced with abuse prevention features that seem to have addressed my concerns.
It has now been enabled and you can now rate posts and build your own rep by earning the ratings of others.
Here's how to use it:
There is now a "Reputation Star" icon in the group of icons at the bottom of every post. If you like something, you can give positive reputation.
As a user's reputation changes it shows in the green pips above their Avatar.
Each user is assigned a Reputation Power. Reputation Power increases based on number of posts, time registered, and your reputation. So a long term member with lots of posts and liked by the community will have more reputation power than a newcomer.
That's it in a nutshell. It is available on a trial basis.Last edited by Kilroy; 02-19-2014 at 12:19 PM.

Also, are these ratings only available for created threads, or replies in general?

Nope. I'm not going to manipulate the system. It will just take time to show anything. Everyone starts with one pip. Votes by long time users with massive post counts are worth much more than newbies.
You can 'vote' for any post.Life dinnae come wit gimmies so yuv got nae chance o' gitt'n any from me.

I guess my point is not manipulating the system, rather giving respect and reputation where it is due.
It's not really a big deal to be honest, but this is common practice when things like this are enabled over a decade after the board is created. For example, moderators or long time contributors were given a higher starting reputation.
I don't see the 'vote' spot either. Just a star under my own posts that say they have not been rated.

OK there was one more hidden set of toggles for this. It should be working now. Also in that set I was able to turn off negative voting so now it can only be used to "like", not dislike a post. I like that much better.

Not sure if it is fixable, but the reputation feature doesn't show up on the mobile view.

I guess it wouldn't since it is a 'lightweight' style.
