How far back should you be from the net?
Building a new simulator and was wondering if there is a particular distance that i should set up the stance mat from the impact screen? I think i want it as far back as possible but you guys are the experts so I just wanted to get your thoughts.

I go back 10 ft, but not sure what your dimensions are.

I am not sure that you would want to be closer than 8 feet. I believe though that 10 feet would feel more comfortable.

room size
the length of the room is 19 feet. So you guys are measuring from ball to impact screen right?

Correct, ball to the impact screen. Given that you have 19 feet I would say 10 at minimum.

I think it depends on your screen and projector type as well.
Main thing you'll want to consider ball bounce back on your screen, i would suggest hitting a few balls into your screen to determine bounce back and set up at a distance u feel safe.
I've got a 10' by 16' screen, so standing too close wouldn't allow me to have a full view of the full screen width. However if your screen is narrow, getting in close might help with immersion. With this screen size, I'm set up 12 feet away to get a full view and my sand wedge hits the top of net first.
i'm using a short-throw projector, so distance is not much of a factor for me, but if you are using a normal projector, u probably don't want to stand too close to the screen as u might cast a shadow on the screen.Last edited by Yongchai; 05-07-2014 at 10:17 PM.

Be careful I got too close and had a hard ball come back and hit me in my nose and just my eye. I thought I broke my nose. Now I use almost golf balls are brush t basic balls...
