Seems like another radar unit. Many options for these. I wonder the price as well. Doesn't appear to offer anything really different.

It definitely does not "measure" carry distance. Why do these companies get away with lying? You really think this product tracks the ball all the way to landing? Idk how these companies get away with this!

they say it "measures" up to 302 yards.
If it only calculates it is misleading and deceptive conduct.
Someone shot them an email to clarify?

I guess I'm assuming it's the usual radar device that picks up initial ball speed/club head speed and uses algorithms to estimate carry distances. Which is still useful, but for companies to say they measure carry distance, that's a fairly complex measurement.

You can skull a ball, have high ball speed, but the ball may only carry about 20 yards.

I've had two of these radar units and they definitely don't measure carry distance. On a well struck shot, the estimated distance will be close. But it certainly doesn't know if you hit a low spinny driver shot or a high launch/low spin bomb.

Guess companies will keep misleading people until they start getting called out.

Pretty sure you are right goatbarn. How far do you think the other similar devices are tracking to get the ball speed?
"Accuracy +/- 3% (ball speed), +/-% (carry distance)" They did not put a value on the +/-% carry distance!

Still like the unit if it is priced right. I only got one of the cheaper chs radars.

I don't know for sure because I, of course, can't find enough transparency on these products websites to tell.

None of the ones I had mentioned anything about minimum distance required indoors, so I would imagine it's under 10' or so.

Also, this is from the ES12 website:
DOES THE THE ES12 MEASURE LAUNCH AND SPIN?
The ES12 does not measure launch and spin however, based on field testing with the Iron Byron, the ES12 reacts to various launch and spin conditions.

So how can these units "measure" carry distance if they have no idea of launch or spin? Let's start the measured/calculated revolution and not let these companies lie to us!
